Excel in Biblical Learning
Ps. Sunny Abraham and his family dedicated their lives to reaching out to the lost in India in 2004. The ministry of Great Harvest began in Chennai’s slums, reaching children and planting a church the following year.
During his ministry, the Lord revealed to Ps. Sunny Abraham the importance of establishing a solid foundation for a mission-focused training center in India. Thus, in 2010, Ps. Sunny Abraham and a group of like-minded individuals gathered to prayerfully establish a mission-focused theological training center. The goal was to establish a higher theological training center to prepare people for twenty-first-century challenges.
Great Harvest Bible College was founded on the conviction that effective native leaders were needed to lead the indigenous churches in India.
The following year (2011), with enthusiastic support from church leaders and prospective students, the college was established with a one-year course module in Morai Village, Avadi IAF, India.
Great Harvest Bible College has a 5-acre landscaped campus with a chapel, office, separate men’s and women’s hostels, a dining hall, and a play area.
Following that, Ps. Sunny Abraham (Director) and Ps. Samuel Christian (Principal) guided the college in the right direction in succession.
In 2022, the college underwent a name and leadership change. Ps. Sunny Abraham continues to serve as director, while Ps. Sunil Thomas has become the principal of the institute. Great Harvest Theological Institute is now the official name of the college.
